Returning to Engage

Next week from 20-22 April 2026 Engage takes place in Ghent (Belgium).

After missing the last two years, I’m really curious to meet old friends and getting the latest updates from HCL. I’m mainly interested in HCL Connections and any path to sovereign software.

This time I got two sessions:

  • HCL Connections Survival Guide for Smart Leaders: Avoiding the Pitfalls with Milan Matejiç

Here we will present pitfalls we faced during Connections deployments, so you can actively avoid them.

  • The second talk is about Deep Dive Debugging CNX

This is a journey through HCL Connections debugging and troubleshooting. We start identifying the root cause of issues and then dig into the details of some selected stories. Much of it applies beyond Connections and can be helpful for debugging any WebSphere, Kubernetes or Javascript based application.

If you’re attending Engage 2026, I’d love to connect. Find me after my sessions, in the sponsor area during the networking breaks, or just somewhere around the stadium. Two years is a long time — I have a lot of catching up to do.

The annual conference of DNUG took place in Constance from 22nd to 23rd of June 2022. I attended the HCL Connections Roadmap session given by Rene Schimmer and David Strachan. They showed the updates for version 8 and beyond.
